Spring 2008 Benefit Bash
5/19/08 Follow-up Note from Carol Thompson, Executive Director
I am bursting with pride and appreciation after an amazing evening
honoring the Mad River Path and celebrating the connection of people,
places and beautiful spaces of the Mad River Valley. Over 350 attendees
at the Lareau Farm Inn's Pavilion, over 50 prizes donated to the
silent auction, at least 50 new and returning members filling out
their membership envelopes, a food feast that just kept on coming,
and the heart-pounding beat of the Big
Basin Band made the evening
such a resounding success. Thank you to the board members, the volunteers,
Lisabeth and friends, and all who made the event one that will take
the Mad River Path one step closer to a reality of joining together
the towns of Waitsfield, Warren, Fayston and Moretown with a continuous system
of public recreational trails. May the Path be with you!
Announcement of Event
Save the date for the Mad River Path Association's annual springtime
rite of passage - the Benefit Bash on Sunday, May 18th, at Lareau
Farm Inn Pavilion in Waitsfield.
The event starts with the association's annual meeting at 5:00
p.m., and continues with American Flatbread, a wide assortment of
salads and deserts, cash bar, fabulous silent auction prizes and
fantastic music by the Big
Basin Band. This will be a family-friendly
event, so bring the kids and the grand-folk, renew your membership
or become a new member, and help the Path celebrate another year
of putting together their network of recreational trails (currently
over 15 miles) in the Mad River Valley. With your help we can create
a continuous Path that will go from Warren to Moretown, connecting
schools, villages, swimming holes and centers of commerce, following
along the Mad River as closely as possible.
Join us for delicious food, toe-tapping music and a great time
to reconnect with your friends and community - only $15.00 per person
or $35.00/family. Call (802) 496-7284 for more information.
DONATION REQUEST
The Benefit Bash on Sunday, May 18th is the first of our two
major fundraisers. The annual meeting is held at the beginning
of the Bash and we welcome new members as well as seasoned veterans.
This celebration is a time for the community to get together and
talk about the past and future hopes and dreams of the Path. With
over fifteen miles of pedestrian-friendly trails in our system,
we need your support to ensure that the Path will always remain
one of the Valley’s most beloved recreational choices.
Held in the Pavilion at the Lareau Farm Inn, the Bash brings together
people of all ages from our community who love to dance, love to
eat, and love to support the Path!
Attendees are treated to American Flatbread, straight from the
brick oven, and a wide assortment of salads and deserts. There
is a silent auction with prizes that include gift certificates for
local restaurants, a day of fly fishing or kayaking, hand-blown
glassware, sporting goods, ski passes and original artwork. And
to get your toes tapping, the popular sounds of the Big
Basin Band
will make this an evening to remember.
Our major benefit income is from the silent auction, and we would
love to offer a prize with your name on it!
If you can donate a prize, please let me (or one of our board members)
know. The Bash is only a few weeks away, so give me a call
(496-7284) or send me an email.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks so much,
Carol Thompson
