Executive Director’s Report for Oct. – Dec. of the
2006 Fiscal Year
Carol Thompson, the new Executive Director was appointed in October
of 2006. In the final three months of the year the following events
happened:
· Mad Dash #11 reconciliation – Total amount received
from the Dash was $16079.83, total amount spent was $6638.72, for
a net profit of $9441.11.
· A check from Ben & Jerry’s for ice cream seconds
was received: $2346.40.
· In December, the “First Annual” Path Walk
was held on the Kingsbury Bridge Greenway. Twenty-one people and
three dogs attended.
· A grant was written to the Vermont Youth Conservation
Corps for a work crew to come in the Spring of 2007 to help build
and construct a bridge and new trail on the Chase Brook Parcel in
Fayston (across the street from the Fayston Elem. School). This
grant was subsequently awarded in the winter of 2007.
· MRVRD Grant was written by Tara and Fred to provide funding
for the VYCC crew for the Spring 2007 bridge/trail project. This
grant was subsequently awarded in the winter of 2007).
· Gather financial data from Northfield Savings Bank statements
and reconcile checking account.
· Gather all address databases and compile to make a single
address database.
· Production of the Mad River Path Map by the Central Vermont
Regional Planning Commission (Steve Gladczuk).
· Discussion with Elwin Neill during hunting season about
people going around the barricade on the East side of the Mad River
Greenway. Elwin has threatened to close this section of the greenway
if this continues to happen.
· December 9, 2006 – Bridge rebuilding event on Catamount
Trail/Millbrook Trail in conjunction with Catamount Trail Association
volunteers.
· Millbrook Trail has been closed until further notice because
of bridge deterioration.
· Connection with Linda Lloyd of the Mad River Valley Planning
District is established.
