Hand powered energy supply ideas?
I’m designing a hand powered energy supply for camping utilities. I’m thinking of using a dc brush motor to generate up to 12v dc. But I don’t want to use batteries. Does someone knows any way to develop a spinning wheel that can generate only while spinning? I could hand power the wheel and generate the amount of voltage needed to power small stuff like LED light lamps, small radio, fan, charger and maybe a small water pump. But I understand I will be using one or two at a time. I just don’t want to depend on batteries that can malfunction over time and are a hassle to carry. Any ideas? Thanks.
Nothing is for nothing.
If you require work to be done, you must input work greater than what you are using.
Invariably, there is losses in the transformation of one form of energy into another by man- made means.
Your idea of using a DC motor as a generator is already your “spinning wheel”.
But you will have to input your energy to spin it, unless you can harness something like the power of a passing stream.
Or wind power.
Neither is 100% reliable.
