Tents Review
When buying tents there are a number of factors that you should consider including waterproofing guidelines, bedrooms, quick pitch tents, pop-up tents and plenty more.
Tents – quick pitch, pop-up or a large tent?
Quick pitch tents and pop-up tents are perfect for festivals and short breaks where you won’t be spending much time in them so don’t need an enormous amount of space. These tents can be erected in a few seconds so you can be sure to have a stress and hassle free time. Many quick pitch tents and pop-up tents are lightweight making them perfect for festivals…many tents now are designed with quirky and funky prints. Larger tents have separate rooms which are ideal for families; many also have PVC windows too…always great for letting in the light! You often miss this with the small tents! Many of the larger tents have living areas which make it ideal for those wishing to have more space for rucksacks, camping equipment and other camping essentials that you may need.
Waterproofing
When buying tents make sure that the tents are made from waterproof fabric; waterproof fabric has a waterproof membrane or coating that prevent water droplets penetrating through the fabric therefore protecting you from the elements of the outdoors. Fabric with a waterproof membrane is also windproof. Although the fabric used is waterproof the tent will not be completely waterproof unless the seams have been taped. Without taped seams, on both tent equipment and clothing, it is possible for water to seep through any exposed stitched areas. Unless your tent has taped seams it is not entirely waterproof so watch out for this. Be careful not to confuse a build up of condensation during the night with water leaking through the tent – occasionally many tents have condensation in the morning and campers often think this is a leaking tent!
